Provost's Award

The Provost's Award is a four-year award that is available to first-time, first-year students with offers of admission to any of Penn State’s twenty undergraduate campuses, excluding Penn State World Campus. Both Pennsylvania and non-Pennsylvania residents are considered for this award, as well as international students, and it is very competitive. This award is not available for transfer students to Penn State.

There is no additional application to be considered for the Penn State Discover Award. We evaluate students for this award based on your admission and financial aid information. While other forms of financial aid can be combined with the Discover Award, the Provost and Discover Awards cannot be combined.

Provost's Award Eligibility

Below is the eligibility for the Provost's Award.

  • All first-time, first-year undergraduate students with an offer of admission are automatically considered for this award. Both Pennsylvania and non-Pennsylvania residents are considered equally for this award, as well as international students.

  • We recommend students fill out the FAFSA, but it is not required to be considered for this award.

  • Penn State World Campus students are not eligible for this award.

  • The Provost’s Award cannot be combined with the Discover Award.

Twenty Campuses. One University.

Big or small, Penn State has it all! Not only will students save on their Penn State degree by studying at a campus, they have smaller class sizes and hands-on academic engagement supported by faculty and staff across the state. The unique partnerships available at every campus support career exploration, civic engagement, and leadership development for Penn State students.
